Our end of season trail running championship event at Wendover Woods.
The 2024 edition of the Chiltern Hills Invitational will take place on Sunday 8th December 2024 at Wendover Woods.
The race will be open to all athletes who finish in the top 8 positions at Runaway Racing events in 2024. Additionally those finishing top in their age category* will receive an invitation.
Invited athletes are now welcome to submit their entry.
*Age cat winners must meet the following qualifiying standards: 10K - 1h15, Half - 2h30, 50K - 6 hours.

Entry details
Registration is £18 (or £16 to affiliated runners). Runners must be aged 16 years or older.

How do I qualify for this race?
You will automatically qualify for this event by finishing top 8 in any Runaway Racing event in 2024, or if you finish top of your age category*. You may also apply to take part if you have finished within the top 5 of any trail event taking place within the Chilterns area.

I'm worried about getting lost?
The route will be marked throughout with our signage, along with marshals at all the key turning points.
How can I attend this event without a car?
Wendover Train Station is the closest station. It is around 2.5km from the station to the start of the run.
What footwear should I wear at this race?
The route will be muddy, trail running shoes are essential.
What prizes are awarded at this event?
There will be an overall trophy for the first male and female along with awards for 2nd, 3rd and age category winners.
Withdrawal options
By entering our race, you agree to the following withdrawal policy. This policy applies to all runners with the exception of women of cannot compete due to pregnancy.
*Entrants to The Ridgeway Challenge are entitled to defer their entry for up to 2 years, or receive a 90% entry voucher to use on any Runaway Racing event.
Credits can be used on future race entries, any time during the following 2 years.
