The following terms & conditions apply to all events organised by Runaway Racing (Runaway Adventures Limited).
Please read this page in full before entering a race and if you do not agree with these policies then please do not enter.
This page is split into the following five sections:
1. Disclaimer of liability
Runaway Adventures Limited assumes absolutely no responsibility, including but not limited to injury or loss of any kind/form due to the use of information, or participating in activities found on this website.
By becoming the participant of a Runaway Adventures Limited event, you agree to the terms and conditions set out on this page.
2. By joining a Runaway Adventures Limited event:
I understand that during my participation in any Event or Activity organised by Runaway Adventures Limited, I may be exposed to risks that include, but are not limited to, the dangers of serious personal injury and death ("Injuries and Damages").
I agree to WAIVE, DISCHARGE CLAIMS, AND RELEASE FROM LIABILITY Runaway Adventures Limited, its organisers, event hosts and leaders from any and all liability on account of, or in any way resulting from Injuries and Damages, in any way connected with the Activity.
I further agree to hold harmless Runaway Adventures and leaders from any claims, damages, injuries or losses caused by my own negligence while a participant on the Activity. I understand and intend that this assumption of risk and release is binding upon my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, and includes any minors accompanying me on the Activity.
If I bring guests to participate in the event I take full responsibility of the guests and agree to all above terms and conditions.
While participating in the group activities, your photo may be taken and posted on the Runaway Adventures/Runaway Racing website or social media by the event organiser or other participant.
1. Cooling period
After booking there is a 24 hour cooling period in which you can choose to cancel your entry and receive a full refund. This should be requested by emailing [email protected]
2. Voluntary withdrawal
If you choose to withdraw up to four weeks prior race day (10am on the 28th day before the event) you will be eligible for a 70% refund. To submit a withdrawal request please fill in this form and we will respond within 72 hours.
After this date has passed no refunds can be offered.
3. Transfers and deferral
Due to the high demand for places we will no longer be allowing transfers or deferral. If you can no longer attend the race you can apply for a 70% refund providing this is done 28 days or more prior to race day.
4. Deferral from a previous event<
If deferred your entry from a 2019 or 2020 race you will not be eligible for a refund on the event you have transferred to.
All events are non-refundable in the case of an event cancellation by the organiser.
If the event can not take place due to adverse weather conditions, a public health emergency (e.g. COVID-19 restrictions) or other circumstances outside of our control, we shall not be liable to refund or pay compensation to runners and reserve the right to hold entry fees against costs incurred.
We will always provide an alternative solution, such entry to a new event date or the transfer to another Runaway Racing event.
By participating in a Runaway Racing event you accept that is it your own responsibility to keep yourself safe. This includes any hazards that you may encounter on the route such as road crossings or livestock.
It is the runners own responsibility to navigate themselves around the course successfully, aided by our course markings.
Although not mandatory, we strongly recommend carrying a paper map of the route and loading the GPX track to your watch or smart phone. If you do not have it already we advise you download and use the OS Maps app.
All participants must have appropriate medical, travel and personal liability for the event. By entering the event you are confirming that you have or will have adequate insurance cover for the event.
Pre-existing medical conditions
You must disclose all medical conditions to race staff prior to race day. If you feel unwell or believe you are not fit enough to undertake the event, then you must not partake.

Any personal belongings left at the event site are done so at the participants risk, this includes the bag-drop area.
Runners are required at all times to carry any mandatory kit specified by the event organiser. These items will be clearly set out on the race specific communication. The event organiser has the right to change this list at any time based on event day conditions.
Cut-off times will be communicated in the race specific communication. If a runner misses a cut-off time they will be disqualified from the event.
It is the runners responsibility to arrange transport from a cut-off location back to the start, however we will always try to transport you back providing we have vehicles available at the time.
Withdrawal (during the event)
If a runner chooses to withdraw they must aim do so at either the start/finish or at a checkpoint, alerting the race staff before leaving. If the runner is unable to reach a checkpoint they must call the emergency event number to notify us. If medical assistance is required our first-aid team will be alerted.
Runaway Adventures Limited take no responsibility for any contraction of COVID 19 while participating in a Runaway Racing event.
We reserve the right to request any runner to leave immediately if they show symptoms associated with COVID 19.
Runners must adhere to the following rules:
1. Runners must not attend the event if they have tested positive for COVID-19 within the 28 days prior to the event, unless than can provide evidence of a subsequent negative COVID-19 test.
2. Runners must not attend the event if they have been in contact with someone who has tested positive to COVID-19 within 14 days of the event.
3. Runners must not attend the event if they have been instructed to self isolate.
4. Runners must not attend the event if they are traveling from a tier 3 location.
5. Runners are required to stay the government recommended distance away from others, who are not in your group/household while on participating in the event. This applies both to other runners and members of the public.
6. You may be required to open and close gates on route. Please take appropriate precautions, such as wearing gloves and sanitizing your hands regularly.
7. Runners must wear a face covering at all times whilst at registration, checkpoints or whilst using any provided facilities such as food huts or toilets.
